We take pride in being an intersectional community that supports everyone in Southern Illinois - regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, age, disability, religion, or class. The Diversity Circle (DC) is a Rainbow Cafe LGBTQ Center committee for individuals motivated to ensure RC spaces and events are inclusive.

In order to ensure that marginalized people are heard, they must be in positions of power. That's why Rainbow Cafe LGBTQ Center actively seeks people with marginalized identities to join the Board of Directors - like people of color, transgender people, and people with disabilities.
There are three goals of the Diversity Circle:
- To ensure Rainbow Cafe LGBTQ Center programs are inclusive and educated on marginalized backgrounds.
- To ongoingly hold space and events for marginalized identities and allies.
- To connect and support outside organizations that center on marginalized identities.
